Yellow Ladybug Fundraiser

I’m fundraising for Cancer Council Victoria to help stop cancer. On 25/04/2025, I lost my grandma to lung cancer. She was one of my biggest supporters and my best friend. Over the past year, I’ve been working on a song called Yellow Ladybug. With some help, I’m now ready to share it. Released on 25/04/2026 — the one-year anniversary of her passing. Alongside the release, I’ll be selling yellow ladybug keychains on my Bandcamp, with proceeds from both the song and the keychains going toward helping others affected by cancer. I’ve also released a music video featuring photos of my grandma.

The story behind Yellow Ladybug:

At my first performance after my grandma passed, a yellow ladybug landed on my hand while I was playing. It stayed with me for an entire song and wouldn’t leave until someone helped me move it somewhere safe. It turned into one of my best performances, and I like to believe she was there with me, supporting me. My grandma came to all my biggest gigs, listened every time I was on the radio, helped me buy gear so I could busk, and gifted me two of my favourite ukuleles and a guitar. She helped raise me, and losing her was heartbreaking. I felt helpless watching her go through it. Now, I’m hoping to raise money to support others facing similar battles — and to contribute, even in a small way, toward better outcomes, treatments, and hopefully one day, a cure.
